# Masked-link and phishing defense

> Privacy-safe destination comparison with versioned intelligence.

Pup compares displayed and safely resolved destination hosts, follows at most
three redirects, and rejects non-public HTTP targets before resolving. It
evaluates blocked or compromised-host intelligence by version. High- and uncertain-confidence findings have separate protection settings. Choose
Off, Observe, Review or Enforce. For Review or Enforce, configure message deletion,
a recorded warning and, when needed, one member action. Configure staff, public
and private notices separately from the response. Review findings enter the
authorized security-review queue; they are not merely labelled as quarantined.
Evidence, selected response, provider result, and recovery are durable and
categorical, never full URLs or message text. An authorized reviewer may record
a false positive recovery: it preserves the incident, cancels still-pending Pup
operations, and never attempts to undo administrator-owned Discord changes or
recreate a deleted message.
