# Emoji, sticker and reaction spam protection

> Configure privacy-safe expression-volume signals and reviewed recovery.

Expression protection evaluates custom Discord emoji, Unicode emoji, stickers,
reaction count, and reaction rate as separate signals. Each signal has its own
bounded threshold; reaction rate also has a rolling window. Policies can exempt
specific channels, members, roles, and declared accessibility contexts before
any expression counts are considered.

Matches retain only the signal code and aggregate count or rate. They do not
retain message text, emoji names, emoji glyphs, sticker names, or reaction
identities. A member-and-channel campaign is grouped into a ten-minute incident
bucket, so a burst creates one reviewed response rather than repeated actions.
Existing security incident recovery records a false positive as recovered and
does not schedule another response for the same group.

Use the smallest threshold that is useful for the server's normal expression
style. Accessibility exceptions should be explicit and narrowly scoped; they
are not a claim that accessible communication is suspicious. Review a
disposable-server outcome before enabling any response.
